| What is Oregon Ability?
This new web site is designed to help people with disabilities and their families find organizations offering a wide range of programs, products and services relevant to their lives and their needs. Included are educational resources, social services, therapeutic offerings, support groups, advocacy organizations, and more. As of July 2003, the data on the site is still being verified and updated, and so many irregularities are still present. Oregon Ability also allows end users to add and update their own information about resources via the web. We know that sometimes the families have the best information about what is available - we are hoping that you will share your ideas and knowledge with others by adding them to the database. Where does the information come from?
Several existing databases are have been combined, and this information will be updated. Consumers, providers, family members - any end user - can also suggest new resources and provide the information through the "add resource" form. The information on Oregon Ability is not endorsed by the site owners; we are simply providing referrals. Can I add a resource to Oregon Ability?
Yes. In order include a resource, we must have basic contact information and a description of at least one program, product or service the organization offers. We hope that Oregon Ability becomes a repository for information about small, local volunteer groups and opportunities as well as larger agencies, services and non-profits. Who is Oregon Ability?
Oregon Ability is a project funded primarily by a grant from the Oregon Department of Education, Office of Special Education (ODE) through the Oregon Parent Training and Information Center (OrPTI). Feedback/Contact information:
